**Role Summary**
The HR Processes and National Projects Specialist is a key member of the Talent and Culture team, responsible for balancing operational HR responsibilities with leading national talent programs. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented individual who takes ownership and delivers with precision. Thriving in a decentralized, cross-provincial environment, they balance high-quality outcomes with agility and adaptability.
Collaborating with HR leaders, VPs, and operational managers, the specialist leverages HR concepts to tackle challenges, build scalable programs, and align initiatives with Transdev Canada’s national priorities, all while addressing potential risks effectively. They take a hands-on approach, delivering practical and impactful solutions that meet the needs of stakeholders and are ready to present with confidence.
**The Mission**
Drive the development of our employees by implementing training programs, effectively monitoring the completion of probationary periods, coaching leaders on delivering effective feedback, and ensuring adherence to processes that align with Transdev's behavioral values.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Operational HR Excellence (50%)**
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Build credibility with HR leaders, VPs, and operational managers to influence decision-making.
- **Policy and Process Oversight**: Partner with VP HRs to address and resolve policy, process, or legal missteps, intervening to correct or discipline mismanagement when necessary and escalating to the Head of Talent and Culture if required.
- **Corporate and Leadership HR Management**:
- Oversee HR processes for Transdev Canada’s corporate office (i.e.: 50 employees) and senior leadership roles across all entities, with a focus on operational leaders.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews while ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with policies, ISO requirements, and best practices.
**2. HR Project Management (50%)**
- **Program Development**:
- Design and implement national HR programs such as leadership development, mentorship initiatives fostering cross-provincial collaboration, and performance management cycles that drive engagement and accountability.
- Develop national talent maps and mobility frameworks to support cross-provincial career development.
- **Cultural and DEI Integration**: Embed DEI principles into HR programs, foster an inclusive culture, and ensure alignment across decentralized regions.
- **Cultural Integration**: Lead efforts to harmonize HR practices across Transdev’s decentralized operations while respecting regional differences.
**3. Ownership and Presentation Readiness**
- **End-to-End Ownership**: Deliver polished, presentation-ready work that is effective and impactful, balancing quality with efficiency (80/20 rule).
- **Stakeholder Buy-In**: Anticipate opportunities to gain support from stakeholders by maintaining professional, well-structured documents and presentations.
- **Balance Quality and Deadlines**: Maintain high organizational standards while effectively meeting deadlines.
**4. Cross-Provincial Collaboration**
- Serve as a national resource, aligning HR practices and processes across decentralized regions (Quebec, Ontario, West).
- Collaborate with VP HRs to address regional nuances while maintaining national consistency.
**5. Proactivity and Risk Mitigation**
- **Proactive Problem-Solving**: Identify HR challenges and address them with forward-thinking, risk-preventative solutions.
- **HR Strategy Alignment**: Drive initiatives that align HR strategies with business goals and organizational needs.
**6. Data and Technology Utilization**
- **Analytics and Insights**:Use HR analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- **Technology Tools**: Leverage platforms like Canva, Metaview, and Veton.ai to create visually compelling presentations, generate insights, and support strategic decisions.
**Qualifications**
- **Education & Experience**: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- **Core Expertise**: 5+ years of relevant experience. Proven ability to design and implement HR programs that drive engagement, leadership development, and organizational alignment. Strong knowledge of HR processes, policies, and compliance standards, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and ISO requirements.
- **Key Skills**: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to build trust and influence at all levels. Strong presentation abilities to engage diverse audiences. Adept at using HR analytics to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- **Technology Proficiency**: Proficient in using HRIS platforms, AI tools to generate insights, Canva for visuals, and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) for documentation and collaboration.
