**Summary of Job Related Responsibilities**:
The Machining Equipment Operator is part of the Manufacturing Department team and the work involves lathe machine and grinding machine operation to meet the design and fabrication requirements.This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and / or the Operations Manager.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Operates Lathe Machine to the appropriate specifications in conjunction with design and fabrication/assembly requirements.
- Use Grinding Machine to grind casting and plates to the appropriate size and thickness in conjunction with design and fabrication requirements.
- Run Iron Worker to notch and punch a variety of metals and band saw to cut angles, pipes, tubings and hss.
- Use and maintain all related tools and equipment.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results on other assigned tasks
- Operates forklift and overhead crane to transfer materials as required.
- Estimates and organizes time and parts required for jobs.
- Assures quality control standards are met.

**Skills & Knowledge Requirements**:

- Knowledge of lathe and grinding machine operation and easily read drawings.
- Works well in a team environment, follows instructions closely.
- Willingness to enroll in related training programs to advance their skills.
- Can safely operate a variety of additional metal working equipment including drill press, bench grinder and band saw.
- Willing to learn to operate shar and brake.
- Good organization and job planning skills
- Able to communicate and work within a team environment
- Certified Forklift Operator considered an asset.
- Certified Overhead Crane operator considered an asset.

**Safety / Quality / Administration**
- Must comply with all NOV Canada ULC policies and procedures
- Maintain clean safe work area, follows company safety policies / procedures
- Uses, cares for, and maintains personal safety equipment.
- Conducts regular maintenance on assigned equipment, and strictly adheres to maintenance requirements.
- Accountable for submitting accident and incident reports
- Participates in the upkeep and maintenance of the Quality Control System, assists in the inspection and review of all related work.
