The Sheet Metal Laser Operator will have the ability to work on various machinery and equipment commonly found in a sheet metal shop. Over the past 40 years, this approach has helped our client build strong customer relationships, referrals and repeat clients. **Feel like you’re the right person for the job?** - Are you a positive communicator that listens to directions and ensures you have clarity? - Do you have the capability and desire to both work on various machinery and equipment and thrive in an environment where no two days will be the same? - Are you able to step up your pace of work in a short period without sacrificing quality? - Have you been recognized for your superior finishing and detail on projects in the past? - Are you able to focus on the task at hand while understanding you have more projects to attend to after you are done? - Do you love seeing beauty in the work that you do, all the time? **THE JOB**: Laser duties - Operation of laser and automation - Reading and interpreting blueprints. - Maintenance of laser machine and related equipment such as dust collector, tower automaton - Material handling and inventory control, load raw sheets into automated tower, move empty skids to appropriate place. - Setup and control of all cutting head components such as nozzles, lens, lens protector etc. - Unloading processed material, sort parts for next operation. - Delegating and monitoring sorting personnel **Requirements for the role**: - 3-5 Years' experience working in a production or manufacturing environment. - 1-3 Years’ experience as a laser operator working with sheet metal forming, fabrication, and general laser operations - Demonstrated prior experience with Amada Fiber Laser is a definite asset to have. - Strong knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of sheet metal fabrication & quality assurance - Proven experience reading and interpreting drafting drawings and designs - Able to work in a physical and mental capacity within a shop facility and are capable of lifting 50lbs. - Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude. Ability to deal effectively a variety of personalities. - High degree of maturity and conscientious attitude. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Proficient in the use of the English language. - Strong organizational and spatial reasoning skills - Ability to juggle multiple priorities and tasks and accomplish work safely in a time sensitive environment. - Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane considered a definite asset **Abilities** - Works quickly and efficiently by ensuring all tasks are completed within the allotted time frame and by offering ideas for improvements to processes to appropriate supervision - Pays attention to detail by identifying details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer) - Possesses the ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
