The Opportunity

We are looking for someone to join our team and work one on one with a child. The successful applicant will collaboratively work with the Director, parent, and support professionals to create a Personal Program Plan (PPP) to help the child be successful in daily activities. The role will require you to provide a safe environment where the child may develop to their potential; physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially, and creatively.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Adjust the environment for the child to learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children, and materials. Extend the child's learning by asking questions or making suggestions that stimulate their thinking. In keeping with the Montessori and Reggio curricula.
Provide active and safe supervision at all times.
Facilitate positive behavior guidance when supporting and redirecting the child
Keep informed of current research and development in the childcare profession.
Flexible hours in accordance with child's hours.
Support child's daily physical needs including but not limited to toileting, eating, sleeping.
Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job (up to 50 lbs)

What You Bring (Preferred Skills and Qualifications)

Formal education within Early Childhood Education
Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 1, 2 or 3
Minimum 1-year teaching experience
Experience teaching within a Reggio Environment is an asset.
Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire).
Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, within the past 6 months.
Effective interpersonal skills, exhibiting a supportive and positive approach.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, time management, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs., especially when working with infants and toddlers.
