The Opportunity Kilburn Hall Youth Centre is hiring and invites you to join our team Responsibilities As a Teacher Therapist, the successful candidate will provide an education program to youth in custody ages 12‑18 being held under the provisions of The Youth Criminal Justice Act. You must be a positive role model, as you will provide educational assessment, programming, planning and instruction for youth within the facility classroom setting and will be responsible for the delivery of curriculum‑based programming to a multi‑grade classroom. To be successful in this position you must model and demonstrate a commitment to the Ministry's mandate to provide a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to assist government. Ideal Candidate Knowledge of the Saskatchewan school system Core Curriculum, Elective courses and Common Essential Learnings; Knowledge of educational methods including behaviour management techniques for adolescents, classroom management, instruction techniques assessment and curriculum; Knowledge of human growth and adolescent development; Knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act; A valid / current Class C, First Aid CPR / AED certificate (must have no less than 12 months remaining); A valid Saskatchewan‑issued Class 5 driver’s license (Novice 2) or equivalent. You will also be required to possess a Bachelor of Education with preference to experience in a custody / community interfaced program and a Professional "A" Teaching Certificate. A Special Education Certificate with experience working with at‑risk youth and Indigenous youth is considered an asset. Physical Requirements The COPAT requirement for employment has been temporarily replaced by a comprehensive medical evaluation completed by a licensed medical practitioner. Should you receive a successful offer of employment and you are not currently employed or have been employed at a Correctional Center or Young Offender Facility within the previous 24 months, you will be enrolled in a paid, full‑time 11‑week Induction Training Program starting on January 19, 2026. Successful completion of the Induction Training Program is required.
