Our Compliance Department, Distribution Networks at iA, is seeking a compliance advisor to support its vision and team. In this role, you will actively participate in the investigations and oversight of the business practices of insurance advisors.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, you will be responsible for the following main tasks:
- Investigate the business practices of advisors in the Brokerage Network, who operate in all Canadian jurisdictions;
- Gather and analyze relevant information based on specific deficiencies in each investigation file from relevant stakeholders;
- Recommend appropriate measures to be taken regarding the concerned advisor;
- Contribute to the accountability that the Department must provide to various committees;
- Support team members in overseeing the Distribution Networks in the sector;
- Identify the oversight needs of the Distribution Networks and recommend solutions tailored to the business realities of the sector;
- Actively contribute to the improvement of the processes and procedures of the Department;
- Support our internal and external partners by providing advice and recommendations related to compliance rules applicable to the distribution of financial products and services.
Profile sought:
- Professional experience of at least 3 years in the financial services sector;
- Bachelor's degree in law and member of the Quebec Bar or the Chambre des notaires du Québec (an asset);
- Certification in life insurance issued by a Canadian regulator, an asset;
- Excellent language skills in both French and English, both orally and in writing due to frequent interactions with colleagues or internal partners in English and French across Canada;
- Rigor and self-discipline;
- High autonomy;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence to find compromises or solutions to various issues encountered;
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, sense of priorities.
