The BC Family Maintenance Agency is looking for an experienced Director, Human Resources to join our team in our Burnaby office.

The Director, Human Resources (HR) reports to the Vice President, HR/Chief Human Resources Officer and is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives that support the effectiveness and efficiency of BCFMA. The position assists with strategic advice to the leadership team for the planning and delivery of progressive HR policies and programs. The role supports developing strategies, programs and other initiatives that translate the overall vision and direction for HR management into programs and services that meet the current and future business goals of the BCFMA. The Director provides guidance and leadership to the HR team to ensure superior operational delivery of HR programs and services to staff. The position identifies and pursues opportunities to introduce innovative workforce engagement and workplace culture enhancement strategies and acts as a change champion for initiatives that maximize human potential.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Develops and nurtures strong collaborative relationships across the organization and creates opportunities to strengthen working partnerships to continuously improve service delivery.
- Assists in the implementation of strategies, programs, projects as directed by VP HR/CHRO and other initiatives to support and advance the business goals of BCFMA and foster a collaborative, inclusive and diverse organizational culture.
- Manages, coaches and mentors to promote and inspire a climate of creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
- Works in the various functions in human resources including recruitment, training and development, employee engagement, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA).
- Develops and maintains annual HR training calendar incorporating all training activities for BCFMA.
- Oversees the creation, scheduling and approval process for training courses which may include supporting training or delivering training to assist in BCFMA’s deliverables under the direction of the VP HR/CHRO.
- Oversees exit interview process and creates standardizations for reporting back.
- Assists in developing and updating policies and processes as required to support the HR Divisional Plan.
- Supports the Workplace Engagement team to help foster employee engagement across the Agency.
- Assists in the implementation of the Workplace Engagement Survey Action Plan.
- Leads performance review process including tracking performance appraisals, modernizing appraisals to incorporate true performance measurements while continually evaluating areas for improvement.
- Develops and creates analytics, dashboards, and reporting to assist in the planning and strategy initiatives provided by the VP HR/CHRO in support of the HR Divisional Plan.
- Provides expert advice to leadership teams on current and emerging HR trends and contributes to key decision making on priorities and deliverables.
- Administers employee documentation and records, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
- Ensures all HR documents and history are all properly stored on the server including ensuring a regular process for reviewing folders and security permissions.
- Collaborates with Operations and Legal to provide support for grievances, grievance meetings, other labor relations issues including but not limited to script writing, attending meetings if needed for support, etc.
- Works with leadership to ensure workforce needs are reflected in the creation, classification, posting and selection of talent.
- Responsible for developing and implementing best practice on-boarding strategies when bringing on new talent, including ensuring appropriate documentation, orientation, training and more are completed.
