Position: Family Counselor
Position Description: Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Family
Facilitator will coordinate the overall programming for the mothers of NSL and Memengwaa
Place. The incumbent will develop, facilitate, and coordinate parenting groups involving issues of child development, positive discipline, and other issues that meet the needs of the mothers and families.
Qualification Required:
- BSW or other related professional degree with a minimum of one (1) years’ experience in working with families affected by family violence and/or a certificate in Early Childhood Education with two
(2) years or more experience in working with families affected by family violence.
- Excellent group facilitation and program development skills.
- Must have excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions a definite asset.
- Knowledge of an Indigenous language or dialect a definite asset.
- CPR/1st Aid Training Certificate or be willing to obtain required.
- MB Drivers’ License and access to a vehicle suitable for work would be an asset.
Shift/shifts Required: days with possibly one late shift (12:00 - 8:00) per week.
Wage Range: $23.64 - $ 24.59
Start Date: ASAP
**Salary**: $23.64 per hour
