Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to Director to support the Corporate and Commercial department. This role is integral to the seamless operation of the Corporate and Commercial department, involving diverse and confidential responsibilities requiring discretion, tact, and professionalism. You will manage confidential administrative matters relating to overall WorkSafeBC policies, operations and department management, as well as assisting in legal matters.**

**Where you’ll work**

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of some remote work**with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you’ll work three or more days a week in our Richmond office.

What you'll do
- Open, maintain, and organize electronic and physical legal files to ensure accuracy and accessibility, while securing confidential documents according to departmental protocols.
- Manage correspondence, track legal queries, and prioritize high-importance requests.
- Maintain the director's schedule, and coordinate events and meetings for the director and senior managers.
- Designs, implements and maintains legal templates as required.
- Prepare various reports, including reports for the Board of Directors and the executive.
- Edit and format legal agreements.
- Participates in the design, implementation and maintenance of department technology, and acts as an expert resource to the director and other department members.
- Assist with departmental budget administration, manage purchase requisitions, travel and expense claims, and oversee financial processing for external counsel expenses and other legal costs.

- Demonstrates precision in managing legal files, preparing documents, and maintaining organized systems, ensuring all work aligns with established procedures and deadlines.
- Exercises tact and maintains confidentiality when handling sensitive information, supporting directors with professionalism and trustworthiness.
- Excels in both written and verbal communication, including drafting, editing, and preparing various legal documents, as well as engaging with stakeholders and team members.
- Effectively prioritizes tasks, manages multiple deadlines, and ensures timely completion of all responsibilities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Builds positive relationships within the department and across teams, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

**Your background and experience**
- A minimum of Grade 12 and a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree with courses directly related to legal administrative support, plus 5 years of recent directly related experience. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office tools in a legal environment and familiarity with electronic legal file management systems.
