MANAGER OF PATIENT FLOW
NBRHC - NORTH BAY

This position requires an enthusiastic confident leader who is able to engage all staff in activities that
increase the quality of the patient experience, while optimizing efficiency in operations and patient flow.
This leader will be required to work collaboratively to develop and implement evidence-based changes,
provide a collaborative and supportive environment, and model professional and organizational core
program, including the offsite facility and with regional partners as well as working with the team to
optimize patient flow and carry out change initiatives.

The Patient Flow Manager will be responsible for the following teams:
- Patient Flow Navigators
- Social Workers - Clinical
- Physician Assistants
- Admission Nurses
**JOB SUMMARY:**
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team by providing both administrative and clinical direction to ensure
effective collaboration and optimal patient flow outcomes.
Utilize data-driven insights to support and enhance the delivery of safe, high quality, patient-centered care,
ensuring that patient needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Drive the effective adoption and use of patient flow tools, such as Estimated Discharge Date (EDD) and
patient flow dashboards, to improve decision-making and optimize patient throughput.
Communicate with external stakeholders and partners to collaborate on opportunities for enhanced patient
experience and discharge processes.
Identify and implement strategies to preserve conservable inpatient days, continually seeking innovative
approaches to improve patient flow and reduce unnecessary admissions or extended hospital stays.
Foster a collaborative, inter-professional environment by holding team members accountable and building
strong partnerships with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic
approach to care.
Oversee and manage daily resource utilization to ensure that staff, facilities, and equipment are allocated
efficiently to meet service goals and enhance patient flow performance.
Provide leadership for operating initiatives, program goals, and objectives to meet strategic
directions in partnership with the Clinical and Medical Director of the program

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Certification/Experience/Knowledge: **
Relevant clinical degree at the Baccalaureate and Masters level
Minimum of three (3) years of recent management or advance practice experience
Recent relevant clinical experience working within the patient flow portfolio
Excellent budgeting and financial management skills, and knowledge of funding and care delivery
models related to the Perioperative programs
Experience with change management and innovation
Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate required (training delivered by Hospital
upon hire)

Superior leadership, communication, team building and creative problem solving skills
Demonstrated coaching and empowering style of management
Demonstrated ability to support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health
events, and promotion of quality in our organization
Criminal Reference Check including the Vulnerable Sector Check recent within six (6) months is a
requirement
