**Job Title: NOHT-ESON Bilingual Manager of Communications & Engagement**

**Hours of Work: Full-time (40 hours per week); may include evenings & weekends**

**Annual Rate: $85 000- $90 000**

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director of Planning, the Manager of Communications & Engagement has an important and direct impact on the successful implementation of the NOHT-ESON’s Communication and Engagement strategy. Working collaboratively with the Communications and Engagement Working Group, this role will be responsible for planning, development and implementation of effective communication and engagement strategies to support the NOHT-ESON’s strategic goals and priorities. Furthermore, this role will work closely with the NOHT-ESON Planning Table to ensure successful engagement of people with lived experience, clinicians and broader community partners. Hence, the NOHT-ESON is looking for a bilingual, creative, highly organized team player with experience in communications, project management, engagement and social and digital media.

**Education and Training**
- Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing or Journalism.
- 5+ years experience in a Communications, Marketing and/or Project Management role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
- Professional accreditations are an asset such as ABC (Accredited in Business Communications), CMP (Communication Management Professional), APR (Accredited in Public Relations) or CAAP (Communications and Advertising Accredited Professional).
- Training and/or relevant professional experience in client and person-centered care, patient/client engagement, and /or client relations.
- Current criminal record check.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and insurance.
- Bilingual in English and French is mandatory.
- Proof of Covid 19 vaccination.

**Knowledge and Experience**
- Demonstrated understanding of the health sector, including primary care, acute care, home care, long term care and community support services.
- Experience in content writing, editing, public relations, issues management, brand management, event management and/or media relations.
- Demonstrated experience with various social media platforms and with website development and design.
- Experience in collaborating in the development and execution of communication plans.
- Experience engaging with the community and the media is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of project management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of or experience working with First Nations, Metis or Inuit Communities including the diversities amongst First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, cultures, and histories.
- A proven awareness of the legislative framework pertaining to French language services in Ontario, and how it pertains to NOHT-ESON work.
- Previous experience with and/or knowledge of a consensus decision-making model.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health Teams as well as an understanding of the services provided by the various NOHT-ESON partners is an asset.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy, manage confidential information and build rapport and positive working relationships.
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Virtual Meeting platforms (i.e. zoom), Google Docs and Google Sheets.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to perform effectively/efficiently, be resourceful and anticipate needs when faced with revised workload priorities and changing deadlines.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and collaborative skills.
- Ability to take complex medical and health care information and simplify for the general audience.
- Flexible to work variable hours during the week, including evenings and some weekends.
- Some travel may be required.
