**Position Profile**:
We are searching for an energetic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Youth Settlement Worker who will work out of our new community collaboration Hotel program in Mississauga. The Youth Settlement Worker role is a fundamental role at Our Place Peel in supporting young people using the housing first for youth framework that is strength-based and trauma-informed.

**Role Overview**

**Responsibilities**:

- Completes intakes and supports youth entering the hotel program, ensuring basic needs are met on arrival
- Provide a positive environment to youth and support in systems navigation
- Provides supervision and crisis counselling to residents living in the program
- Supports youth with completing referrals to community agencies based on care path plan
- Assisting youth in daily routines including life skills development
- Responsible for maintaining the health and safety of all residents including the completion of hourly security checks
- Maintains positive and open communication with the staff team and external partners
- Collaborates with a variety of community partners including CAS and settlement agencies
- Completes documentation of shift activities and incidents in appropriate logs and client records
- Responsible for entering client data for monthly, quarterly and annual funding reports
- Support with the facilitation of programming as required

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or Diploma in Social Services or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- 1+ years experience working with youth in a shelter/residential setting and/or settlement services
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care is an asset, as well as knowledge of mental health and harm reduction
- Some knowledge of resources within the Region of Peel, specifically for settlement services
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including some weekends and holidays
- Effective problem solving, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
- Knowledge of Ukrainian, Polish, and/or Russian languages is an asset
- A valid Ontario Driver’s License, access to a vehicle and $2,000,000 (minimum) liability car insurance coverage are an asset
- Valid CPI/UMAB and First Aid/ CPR certifications
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check that meets the standards of Our Place Peel
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and able to provide proof
