Construction Estimator

Rite Excavation Limited is **an excavation, earthworks and civil contractor** and we are seeking an **experienced **and motivated individual to join our growing team as a **Construction Estimator**.

The **Construction Estimator** will report to the Project Manager and/or General Manager. In this role you prepare tenders and proposals and evaluate, understand and identify project risks. Your skills will be an asset.

**Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to**:

- Review project plans and specifications to identify scope and requirements.
- Prepare bids and proposals.
- Complete take-offs.
- Liaise with clients and general contractors to prepare bid packages for tender.
- Interact with others for quotations.
- Assist with value engineering to meet client and budget requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with business partners.
- Other duties as required.

**Required Competencies and Attributes**:

- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating or similar.
- A **minimum of three (3) years as a Construction Estimator** with one (1) year focused on North American construction practices in the ICI sector.
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator in a similar role.
- Familiarity with local construction codes and regulations.
- Exceptional written and oral communication, in English.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Able to carefully review plans, drawings and contracts for appropriate take-offs and estimates.
- Willing to work closely with diverse teams and adapt to various roles.
- Able to work in a team or independently.

- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Willing to work closely with diverse teams and adapt to various roles to build relationships with all business partners.

**Work Location**:This is an in-office position working from our Head Office located in Burlington, Ontario.
