**CERTIFIED ACTIVITY AIDE (Part-Time) - Extendicare Southwood Lakes**

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Successful completion of a degree or diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies,
Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or related program.
- Previous experience in Long Term Care setting and knowledge of working with
Geriatric and special needs residents.
- Ability to read and write English and to understand verbal and written instructions
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher and World Wide Web is an asset.
- Understanding and patience.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Implements and evaluates individual and group programs in order to meet the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the residents.
- Maintains program and resident records according to department policy.
- Active participation in committees and care conferences.
- Works together with other departments to meet resident needs.
- Attends in-service education programs when required.
- Other duties as assigned by Resident Program Manager.
