Sebastian & Co, Vancouver’s original craft butcher, is recruiting butchers for its busy downtown and West Vancouver locations.
We are looking for outgoing individuals with excellent knife skills and a genuine passion for food. Experience as a professional butcher is a definite plus, but willing to train the right individual who has culinary training and a baseline knowledge of butchery.
The successful individual will grow into a dynamic role which will include:
- highly technical butchering & beautiful presentation of meat
- high-level customer service
- making fresh sausages
- making duck confit and marinades
- educating customers on the value of dry-aged meat
- communicating cooking techniques and sharing culinary ideas with customers
- operating heavy-duty butchery equipment, including bandsaw, mixer/grinder and patty machine
Heavy lifting and basic shop tasks such as cleaning will be required. Customer interaction plays a key role in this position, so applicants must have a great personality, high standards, and an eye for perfection.
