This is a cross-site role and the Manager, Patient Registration is responsible for upholding the highest standard of patient registration services across Unity Health Toronto's two acute sites: St. Michael's Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital. The incumbent will oversee these departments and ensure the robust implementation of the strategic plan in alignment with Unity Health Toronto's vision, mission and values. The manager must enable the team to strive for the highest levels of service, efficiency and effectiveness in this role.

A critical priority of this role is to lead and contribute to the development and execution of Unity Health Toronto's first integrated EPR (Epic).

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES**:

- Plans, manages and directs the operations of the Admitting and Patient Registration department in order to provide efficient and effective day to day operational services for smooth registration/admission of all patients.
- Effective recruitment and retention strategies
- Prepares staff schedules to meet the needs of the department.
- Ensures that Admitting and Patient Registration staff receive appropriate training for their assigned roles, including development through cross-training.
- Review systems and policies to identify for areas of ongoing quality improvement.
- Develop and implement workload standards and benchmarks for each of the registration areas.
- Responsible for the recruitment, training, monitoring, supervision and leadership development of teams across both St. Michael's Hospital and St. Joseph's Health Centre.
- Ensure appropriate and agile staffing levels, 24hours/day 7 days a week.
- Ensure maximization of preferred accommodations revenues by daily monitoring of all registration practices.
- In collaboration with the Finance Department develop department procedures to streamline processes and information flow between departments.
- Develop and implement an on-going customer service training program for all department staff.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Undergraduate degree in healthcare or business; master's preferred- Three (3) years management/supervisory experience required
- Previous experience with EPR implementation a strong asset- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, i.e., Excel, Work, Power Point required- Excellent written and verbal communication required- Experience navigating hospital information systems- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required- Excellent interpersonal skills required- Demonstrated leadership ability required- Ability to deal with and manage competing priorities.- Self-motivating and able to follow through on mutliple initiatives.
- Patient and family-centered with a strong emphasis on customer service
