Supervisor, Patient Registration and Admitting

To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a **Supervisor, Patient Registration and Admitting** to support our Admitting Department at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.
The Supervisor, Patient Registration and Admitting, supports high quality patient registration, admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) processes within the organization. They are responsible for the identification, development and revision of corporate standards, policies and procedures, training programs and materials, monthly data quality reports, and continuous feedback/education in relation to patient registration and admitting. The Supervisor oversees regular Admitting Department operations, Preferred Accommodations, and the standardization of work/oversight of decentralized ADT functions and Ambulatory Care Registration. As part of the pandemic response, the Supervisor will also oversee the Screening Department.
**Responsibilities**
Human Resources Management
- Supervision of staff, ensuring day-to-day operations are maintained in accordance with Mount Sinai Policies and Procedures
- Development and implementation of training plans
- Assists in the recruitment process
- Provides continuous feedback, coaching and counseling on performance
- Applies appropriate developmental tools to assist in employee growth
- Responsible for adherence to all employee relations programs
- Prepares and maintains documentation and reference guides. Manages all required updates accordingly.
- Assists with the training and orientation of new clerical staff supporting registration, admission, discharge, and transfer (i.e., Unit Clerks, Ward Clerks, Admitting Clerks, etc.)

Registration Projects and Process Improvement
- Participates in special projects and process improvement initiatives in relation patient registration and admitting functions
- Works collaboratively with the Hospital's clinical and business areas (i.e., Performance, IT, Finance) to document, define and analyze workflow processes related to new or existing patient registration conversations
- Together with other stakeholders identifies opportunities for improving information management processes, evaluates requests for system improvements and determines feasibility and advisability of changes
- Helps guide the implementation of standard registration practices and procedures across all outpatient areas in alignment with the organization’s Ambulatory Care Strategy.
- Participates in activities related to Cerner upgrades and improvements
- Supports the development and implementation of downtime and code orange processes and procedures to support registration, admission, discharge, and transfer
Registration Data Quality
- Distributes monthly data quality reports (health card validation, residence codes, religion, financial class, etc.) to all departments (clinical areas) completing Cerner registration/admission with health card validation and inpatient units
- Will follow up to ensure all errors are corrected by responsible staff
- Will provide re-education as necessary
Policies and Procedures
- Assists with the identification, development and revision of corporate standards, policies and procedures relating to patient registration, admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) and other clerical functions
- Develops and distributes monthly registration newsletter
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of a College Diploma (3 year program) in a related field from an accredited educational institution. (Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, etc. preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a minimum of three (3) years of experience at the Supervisory level
