If so, our West division (Wapiti Gravel Suppliers) has an exciting opportunity for a Shop Foreman

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and direct people, equipment, and resources in an effective manner.
- Ensure sufficient deployment and productivity of equipment shop mechanics; providing coaching and training as required.
- Engage in open communication with the Superintendent and report any issues which could affect productivity.
- Work as a team member and leader to assist with equipment repairs as required in both the shop and field.
- Organize and coordinate the daily activities of all equipment technicians to ensure deadlines are met and the budget maintained.
- Plan work in an efficient and effective order, maximizing progress in a safe and timely manner.
- Assist in the completion of equipment inspections as required.
- Work collaboratively with the purchasing group to determine priorities and assist with complex parts orders.
- Review and approve parts orders in a timely manner.
- Ensure company equipment is lawfully operated, cared for, maintained, and used effectively.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
- Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
- Conduct safety meetings as per safety program requirements.
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
- Other operation related duties as required.

**Qualifications/ Requirements**:

- High School diploma or G.E.D preferred
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Journeyman Certification
- Minimum 5-7 years experience within the road construction industry
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Foreperson in an Equipment Shop.
- Knowledge of road construction equipment
- Ability to prioritize work
- Communication skills

**Working Conditions**:

- Bi-weekly schedule of 5 working days, with 2 days off and 6 working days, with 1 day off, up to 10 hours per day. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
- Out of town work may be required on an occasional basis
- Work may need to be performed in an outdoor setting from time to time, which could include inclement weather and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must be physically able to life and carry at least 50lbs on a regular basis
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
