Calibration Technician

Reporting to the Analytical Services Leader and in accordance with policies, standards and procedures of Vita Health Products Inc., this position will be responsible for performing routine calibration, maintenance and qualification of Quality Control (QC) Laboratory equipment in accordance with GMP/GLP and Vita’s internal requirements. Participation in new lab equipment validation activities may be required.

**Duties will include**:

- Maintain and executes scheduled and non-scheduled calibration procedures of QC laboratory equipment along with their routine maintenance program.
- Provide lab equipment troubleshooting support to QC laboratory analysts as well as equipment training.
- Update calibration and maintenance of lab equipment within the calibration management scheduler software (EMain).
- Liaison with contractors, external calibration service providers, vendors to complete scheduled lab equipment calibration, maintenance and qualifications.
- Perform new lab equipment validation as required.
- Generate or modify calibration, operation and maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Required Experience**:

- Experience with service and repair of laboratory equipment, particularly experience with HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, FTIR, NIR and ICP-MS spectrophotometers.
- Strong knowledge of GMP/GLPs.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Ability to work with others and independently to meet project deadlines.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 2 years lab experience in a pharmaceutical industry.
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or diploma in Metrology

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
