Applications Support Intermediate Analyst

The Applications Support Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub-function/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with a variety of issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams. **Responsibilities**: - Coordinates activities of an IT project team, identifying necessary resources and developing schedules to meet completion deadlines. - Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams. - Collaborates in the development of project business and system requirements. - Develops requirement documentation. - Communicates with project staff and clients regarding status of projects. - Utilizes project management tools and provides project status tracking, metrics and project estimates. - Contributes to process improvement efforts. - Evaluates business processes, system processes and industry standards. - Applies good understanding of how the team and area integrate with various departments including Front office, Technology and Operations in accomplishing objectives. - Exchanges ideas and information in a concise and logical manner. **Required Qualifications**: - 2-5 years relevant experience - An understanding of Front Office trading & market structure along with an understanding of products, trading concepts, front to back trading lifecycle-Execution, Allocation, Clearing & Settlement process - Working experience in onboarding & administering electronic trading (e-Trading) users, administering trading limits, monitoring client execution flows & system alerts would be highly preferred - Demonstrated ability to efficiently problem solve in time critical scenarios - Analytical skills to think clearly and resolve problems with good judgment under pressure **Preferred Qualifications**: - Experience and/or knowledge of financial & banking industry is a plus - Previous experience/knowledge of supporting a Futures trading business preferred - Understanding of client trading architecture is preferred - Experience in data analysis and MIS reporting is preferred - Demonstrated ability to learn new business concepts quickly - Effective written and presentation skills - Ability to work at strategic and tactical operational levels - Ability to promote positive work relationship - Understand criticality and concepts of information security - Knowledge of foreign languages will be an added advantage but not essential - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Display a flexible attitude to work and a great team player **Education**: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
