Communications Intern

**Make your mark for patients**

We are looking for a **Communications Intern**to join us in our **Communications team**based out of our office in **Oakville, Ontario, Canada.** This is a paid, full-time internship expected to run for a duration of 12 months.

**About the role**
The Communications Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and actions in both internal and external communications. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with UCB Canada's Leadership Team in defining and executing the Communications strategy to support our strategic ambition and leadership aspirations in the Canadian healthcare ecosystem.

**Who you’ll work with**
This individual will collaborate with various internal departments (marketing, market access etc.) as well as external vendors to help drive UCB’s communications strategy.

**What you’ll do**
- Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies and plans.
- Support the creation and dissemination of internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and social media content, and managing the Communications vendor.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Help organize and coordinate events, meetings, and presentations.
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts.
- Provide administrative support to Communications as needed.

**Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills**
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous internship or work experience in communications or a related field is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information within a regulated environment.
- Bilingual in English/ French an asset.
