Switchboard Operator/referral Coordinator

This position will appeal to a motivated and attention to detail individual who has previous medical reception and customer service experience in a medical office.
**Daily duties and responsibilities include**:
- Answering a busy multi-line phone system efficiently and professionally
- Directing incoming phone calls from referral sources including scheduling, referral, and follow-up calls.
- Patient bookings for multiple locations and schedules working within deadlines.
- Answering and directing incoming faxed documents to appropriate departments.
- Working closely with the team to assist with all duties and responsibilities of the department.
- Preparing referrals for provider appointments by reviewing referral source documents, contacting referral sources, scheduling appointments, and preparing referral files for follow-up calls.
- Data entry, scanning and linking into EMR (HealthQuest) system
- Other duties as assigned by management team.
**Required Skills**:
- Strong phone manner dealing with a busy multi-line phone system in a professional manner
- Excellent data entry skills
- Must enjoy customer service, and interacting with patients on the phone and in person
- Administrative experience with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to learn new software as needed.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision or as a team player depending on the situation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Health Quest EMR preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, providers, staff members, vendors, insurance companies, and the public.

Pay: $17.50-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
