We currently have a **Casual **opportunity for a **Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant **in the** Rehab Services department** at our **Holland **Campus.

**Hours of Work:
**Weekdays**: Days, 8 hrs, as per schedule

**Statutory Holidays Required**

**Summary of Duties**
- With supervision and direction of Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists provides a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions consistent with the patient/family needs and priorities as well as the Program’s clinical benchmarks
- Performs basic evaluative functions e.g., monitor ROM, mobility
- Performs direct clinical interventions e.g., patient mobilization (transfers, walking, stair practice), additional treatment sessions/day, supervision of exercise practice, assembly of assistive devices
- Assists with treatment e.g., 2 person assistance for patient ambulation
- Assists with treatment planning and modification e.g., functional measures - TUG, Self-paced walk, stairs
- Collaborates with and reports any observations/ changes with regard to patient condition and response to intervention to the supervising therapist e.g., daily conferencing
- Cleaning and maintenance of rehab equipment related to Inpatients e.g., walkers, crutches, canes, sling & springs, linen, supplies in exercise folders
- Documents accurately and according to the hospital’s standards

**Qualifications/Skills**
- Combined PTA/OTA College (Public Institution) Certificate required
- Previous experience in area of musculoskeletal and geriatric rehabilitation
- Knowledge of equipment and hygiene principles
- Strong customer service focus using person-centred care concepts
- Strong team player; ability to function in an interdisciplinary team setting
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced physically demanding environment
