**PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST**
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
The Professional Development Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering outreach and training programs to REALTOR® Members and Brokerages. This includes providing high-quality and innovative e-learning, classroom and workshop courses on the resources and technologies available to REALTORS®, as well as delivering seminars on industry and legislative compliance at our offices and at offsite locations.
The incumbent will create and edit course materials, develop web-based learning aids, and provide administrative support, including assisting with the planning and coordination of professional development programs at regional offices and with PropTx clients.
This role is for a highly organized, tech-savvy self-starter with an enthusiasm for education and proficiency in the real estate industry. The successful applicant will be a confident and excellent public speaker who is devoted to helping Members improve and expand their knowledge.
**INSTRUCTOR DUTIES**
- Develop and conduct training sessions both at TRREB’s offices and at various brokerage offices throughout the GTA.
- Train real estate professionals on how to use applicable tools, resources and technologies, especially those associated with the MLS® System.
- Develop and maintain end-user resources (guides/workbooks) and training videos which support the course catalogue.
- Develop and assist with the creation and maintenance of the training curriculum and documentation.
- Act as a liaison and coordinate professional development plans, materials, and instructor schedules for the training of new and existing PropTx clients.
- Provide support for the coordination of contract instructors teaching at our regional offices in Peel and Simcoe County.
- Assist in addressing functionality issues with the professional learning management systems, including facilitate enhancements to and resolving issues related to existing systems, and any new platforms.
- Assist in sourcing course instructors within appropriate budget parameters, including vetting incoming course proposals, and ensuring a fair and unbiased selection process.
- Act as back up for the Professional Development Administrative Assistant as required.
- Assist with testing and supporting new technology initiatives, websites and tools as required.
- Assist with the tracking of all mandatory professional development education within required timelines, including providing notification of any non-compliance and assisting the Membership Department with corrective action as required.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of the resources available to REALTORS®, including current and emerging online and mobile device technology.
- Stay abreast of trends and best practices in both the real estate industry and in learning theory, and incorporate these into the curriculum as appropriate.
- Help support the MLS® Services team by entering interboard listings into the MLS® System as needed.
- Assist with TRREB special events, including on-site assistance as required. This will include attending REALTOR® QUEST and assisting with the planning and execution of the Learning Hub.
- Perform other special projects or duties as assigned from time to time.
**HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES**
The incumbent will follow safe work procedures, knowing and complying with all health and safety regulations. Personal protection and safety equipment will be used if/when required. Any injury or illness, unsafe acts or unsafe conditions must be reported immediately to their Supervisor.
**REQUIREMENTS**
**Education**:
- A university degree, preferably in education or a related discipline, or an Adult Education Certification, and a sound knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
- Knowledge of TRREB MLS® Rules and Policies, the Trust in Real Estate Service Act (TRESA), the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) Code of Ethics, Competition Compliance, and any other legislation or industry requirements is considered a strong asset.
**Experience**:
- 5+ years’ experience in adult education, using various delivery methods, professional development training or a related role;
- Real estate sales experience or equivalent is an asset.
- Must possess excellent communication and writing skills;
- Strong research, documentation and technical writing skills;
- Articulate and confident presentation skills with experience delivering training;
- Sound project management skills, effective prioritization, organization and time management skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality and attention to detail;
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally;
