**Summary**

We are seeking a dedicated **Facilities Worker** to join our team at **Van Belle Nursery - Finished Plants** in Abbotsford, BC. The Facilities and Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and upkeep of greenhouse facilities, systems, and equipment. Maintain an optimal environment for plant growth by performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, ensuring a safe and efficient operation.

**Responsibilities**

- **Ensure the continuous operation and functionality of greenhouse systems** by performing timely maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to support optimal plant growth conditions.
- **Promote safety and efficiency** by maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring all equipment and structures are in good working order.

**I am responsible for**:
**Routine Maintenance and Inspections**:

- Conduct regular inspections of greenhouse structures, including roofs, walls, doors, and windows, to ensure proper condition.
- Monitor and maintain climate control systems such as heating, ventilation, including fans, thermostats, etc.
- Perform scheduled cleaning and maintenance of water, irrigation, and fertigation systems.

**Repairs and Troubleshooting**:

- Identify and repair issues with equipment, such as irrigation lines, pumps, motors, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair climate control systems and greenhouse parts in general.
- Fix or replace broken or malfunctioning greenhouse structures, such as glass panes, doors, and frames.

**Equipment Maintenance**:

- Perform routine maintenance on greenhouse tools, machinery, and equipment, such as tractors, mowers, and power tools.
- Maintain a proper inventory of spare parts and tools required for greenhouse maintenance.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Ensure that all maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Use proper safety gear when handling hazardous materials or performing repairs.
- Ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed for materials like fertilizers, pesticides, and cleaning chemicals.

**General Facility Upkeep**:

- Maintain clean and organized workspaces, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as preparing the greenhouse for planting or adjusting environmental systems for seasonal changes.

**Experience & Skills**:

- Familiarity with power tools
- Renovations / Construction experience preferred
- Organizational Skills / Fiix Job Request System / Asana Project Management
- Familiarity with mechanical systems preferred
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Heights - Occasional Roof work
- Spanish is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
