**12 month Secondment
- Manager - Investigative Underwriting**

The Manager - Investigative Underwriting role is responsible for the day-to-day management of 2 Underwriting analysts who will ensure optimal underwriting performance across the personal insurance portfolio. This is a key corporate underwriting role that is closely aligned with Personal Lines Operations, Corporate Underwriting, Claims SIU & Product & Pricing teams. The role holder is responsible for the implementation & execution of our early fraud detection strategy and will oversee the investigative underwriting team and communicate trends & analysis to all internal & external stakeholders. This role works closely with the entire Corporate UW team in a cross-functional and collaborative capacity.

**What will you do?**
- Oversee End to End Claim Review for personal lines:
- Provide guidance and direction on Claim & Large Loss Reviews and determine if any underwriting process, product, eligibility, or training gaps exist.
- Collaborate with the Claim's Management team for any policy breach claiM/Files and action accordingly.
- Attend court on Gore's behalf as Subject Matter Expert.
- Lead a team that investigates policy breach or potential fraudulent policy activities:
- Work closely with our SIU Claims team to address and action early fraud detection.
- Develop and facilitate new processes and policies with the entire personal lines team to promote early fraud detection.
- Develop and maintain early fraud detection strategies:
- Act as a key stakeholder in the execution of our anti-fraud technologies.
- Develop processes and policies for the implementation of early fraud detection technology solutions.
- Communicate trends and analysis achieved through early fraud tools and technologies.
- Provide support to refine underwriting rules and products.
- People Development:
- Conduct one-on-one coaching and career development conversations.
- Manage development plans and performance improvement plans.
- Build a transparent culture through open communication and trust.

**What will you need to succeed?**
- More than 5 years, up to 10 years of experience in underwriting/insurance, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- CIP designation is preferred.
- Undergraduate Degree.

Location: We're a hybrid team that thrives on the energy and value of in-office collaboration. This role offers the best of both worlds, with 2 days a week spent in our vibrant office in Cambridge, Ontario.
