Custodial Maintenance Helper

Midnight. During school break periods (July & August, Christmas and Spring Breaks) the hours of work will be 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will be paid at the CMH rate of $20.54/hour as per the CAMA/OSSTF Agreement. A CMH must be available for work up to 40 hours per week, are not assigned to one specific
location, and can be asked to work anywhere within the jurisdiction of the Waterloo Region District School Board.

**Responsibilities**:
General Housekeeping Duties:

- Dusting
- Sanitizing surfaces
- Wet and dry mopping
- Polishing, scrubbing and vacuuming floors
- Stripping and re-finishing floor surfaces
- Performing minor maintenance (e.g. changing light bulbs etc.)
- Working at heights (ladder work to 10 feet)
- Garbage and recycle collection and removal (inside and outside)
- Snow removal, salting and sanding as required for safety
- General landscaping duties including weeding and lawn cutting
- May include operating of equipment such as snow blowers and riding lawnmowers

General Responsibilities:

- Maintain cleanliness and security of the building and grounds in all respects
- Perform related duties as required for the daily operations of the site.
- Assist with arranging physical requirements for site rentals, in-school dances and activities
- Maintenance of Logs and Files

General Expectations:

- Follow proper cleaning schedules to maintain expected standards of cleanliness
- Follow Board practices, and procedures in relation to attendance, health and safety
- Work alone or as a member of a team
- Co-operates with colleagues, staff and students to assist in creating positive working relationships in the school community

Qualifications:

- Minimum grade 12 (OSSGD) is required or equivalent
- Previous commercial/industrial cleaning experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Good attendance record
