Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing day-to-day updates & transactions to support the broader payroll program, process bi-weekly pay submissions for pay, prepare reports & reconciliations, and be a general knowledge resource and support for other departments of the Fort McKay Group of Companies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide guidance and support regarding payroll enquires to site based teams and employees of the Fort McKay Group of Companies.
- Review and process day to day payroll transactions including, but not limited to; ROE’s, pay rate & position changes, special payment requests, etc.
- Review, and processing of site based payroll submission for bi-weekly pay runs.
- Review accuracy of approved salaried and corporate services timesheets compared to leave requests, and maintenance of Corporate Leave Tracker system.
- Record, prepare and remit union remittances in line with agreed upon remittance schedules.
- Prepare internal reports for use by payroll stakeholders.
- Analyze and correct payroll errors and issues and ensure integrity of the payroll program.
- Strick adherence to the policies and procedures of the Fort Mckay Group, with a focus on Financial Controls and Human Resource Administration
- Understand provincial and federal privacy laws, as it pertains to collection of personal information.
- Maintain awareness of current payroll legislation
- Involvement in the general administrative activities of the Payroll Department.

Education and Experience
- College diploma in Accounting or Business would be an asset.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in payroll accounting or related discipline.
- Experience in a unionized Payroll environment is preferable.
- Completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Program or willing to enroll and complete within one year

This is a full time temporary position located in Fort McMurray, AB.
