**Manager, Crew Planning (1 Year Contract)**

The
**Manager, Crew Planning (1 Year Contract) **will be responsible for leading the Crew Planning Department to promote optimal schedule efficiency, while also planning for the future needs of the airline. Reporting to the Director, Crew Resources. Located in Toronto, ON

**What You’ll Do**:

- Ensure safety is the primary objective by adhering to the Sunwing safety policy and utilizing the appropriate safety reporting program to identify and communicate all known hazards and risks to the organization.
- Plan for optimum schedule efficiency while ensuring crews are planned using UNIFOR and CUPE Collective Agreements whilst complying with Transport Canada regulations.
- Ensuring continual improvement through the development and periodic review of documented policies, processes, and procedures.
- Identify and communicate crewing requirements and cost issues related to the master flight schedule.
- Develop, train, and mentor staff to ensure competency optimal performance and time management.
- Ensuring departmental compliance with Flight Operation Policies, procedures, Collective Agreements, and government regulations.
- Tracking department employee time and attendance.
- Direct communication and interaction with all stakeholders in matters related to crew planning.
- Developing, compiling, and analyzing crew utilization statistics, standards, and trends to assure optimal crew levels.
- Ensuring crew coverage to account for sickness, vacation, training, and other absences.
- Performing post analysis of actual crew staffing and planned staffing.
- Assisting in business cases and cost analyses for various projects in Flight Operations.
- Conducting benchmarking or other studies as required.
- Performing analysis of labour contracts.
- Implementing automated tools to manage the planning of crew.
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Director, Crew Resources.

**What You’ll Need**:

- At least three (3) to five (5) years of aviation experience, preferably in an operational role.
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate team members using outstanding people skills
- Expert knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and European Aviation Safety Agency Third Country Operators (EASA TCO).
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a demonstrated capability for managing complex problems in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of AIMS Applications is an asset
