**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our team.
This non supervisory position reporting to the shift supervisor is responsible for servicing various loaders, vacuum equipment filters and material feeding equipment in the plastic molding department. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our operations.
**Duties**:
- Receives and complies with written and verbal instructions.
- Performs daily inspection and service of loaders, vacuum equipment filters, hoses and other material feeding equipment.
- Fills machines with colour, material and additives.
- Maintains correct materials, colours and blends during production.
- Cleans jammed grinders.
- Cleans work area around machines and platforms.
- Empties vacuum daily.
- Fills barrel with material.
- Removes skids and bins from machines as necessary.
- Operates lift truck, pump truck, tow motor and vacuum as necessary.
- Maintains material records on computer.
- Completes skid tickets.
- Stores colour on shelves and checks inventory level.
- Packs skids to top height and lift heavy weights as required.
- Changes colour as necessary.
- Communicates material and equipment problems promptly to shift supervisor.
- Grinds excess rejects or materials not suited for production with approval of supervisor.
- Moves materials and product to and from production equipment.
- Lifts and sorts liners, caps, boxes and containers.
- Assists with Maguire setups as required, recalibrates if needed.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by supervision/management from time to time.
- Maintains workplace in a neat orderly manner.
- Follows all plant rules and safety regulations.
- Works in a safe manner using all prescribed safety equipment and devices and eliminates and/or reports all safety hazards that may occur.
- Ensures that all requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Company's Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed by yourself and those you supervise or direct.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Available to work rotating shifts, including overtime when needed as production demands
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma
- Forklift experience preferred
- Valid forklift license, preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Willing to learn
- 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
- Able to follow instructions and complete required training
- Able to work alone or as a team member
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
