**General Description**

As part of the Warehouse team, the Shipper/Receiver verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Assist with mechanical assembly of product.

**Responsibilities**:

- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures and rates.
- Responsible for the overall warehouse; maintain clean and neat warehouse and surrounding area, ensuring that all employees follow proper procedures
- Make sure all arrivals and shipments are received in Prophet 21; create daily shipping reports; creating and printing off picking slips; file all paperwork in proper file cabinets
- Ensure that all shipments and deliveries are in good condition and sent out or received in a timely fashion
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and arrange to rectify damages and shortages
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Expedite orders
- Assist Inside Sales and Outside Sales Reps
- Inventory management
- Participate in regular Inventory count
- Utilize hand held tools such as screwdriver and drill
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Other duties may include light mechanical assembly work

**Work experience requirements**:

- Need to have excellent organization skills, enabling them to quickly locate merchandise for distribution or placement within the warehouse.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to communicate with all levels of employees and customers (internal and external).
- Previous experience of working on forklift preferred
- Keen attention to detail and self-motivated
- Prior experience using both hand and power tools

**Education requirements**:

- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Mechanical assembly experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software and Excel Windows is required with five years of experience
