Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

- Installation and Maintenance: Implement and maintain erosion control measures such as silt fences, erosion control blankets, wattles, and sediment basins to prevent soil erosion and sediment runoff.
- Site Preparation: Prepare job sites by clearing debris, grading surfaces, and ensuring proper placement of erosion control materials.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites safely and efficiently.
- Site Clean-Up: Perform site clean-up tasks, including removing leftover materials and ensuring the site is left in a clean and safe condition after project completion.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow crew members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to specifications.
- Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction equipment and tools as required, following all safety guidelines.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and compliance reports.
- Training: Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or erosion control is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Driver’s License: Valid Alberta driver’s license with a clean driving record is an asset.
- Certifications: Possession of safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA 10) is an asset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using specific tools or software relevant to erosion control projects is an asset.

Working Conditions:

- Outdoor work environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Physical labor requiring lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy materials and equipment.
- Full-time position with potential for overtime based on project needs.
- Travel to various job sites; a company vehicle may be provided.
