**Job Title: Lead Gas Technician Instructor**

Specializing in career-focused education, our Alpha College of Business and Technology division ensures students receive practical, industry-relevant training to excel in their chosen fields. Currently, Alpha College is in the process of obtaining TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority) accreditation for our Gas Technician G3 program.

**Support of TSSA Accreditation**:

- Assist in preparing materials, equipment, and setting up facilities to meet TSSA standards for the G3 program.
- Oversee the lab setup to ensure compliance with TSSA requirements.
- Ensure all instructional materials and practical training components for the G3 program meet TSSA standards.
- Participate in the documentation and audit process required for TSSA accreditation.
- Work closely with the accreditation team to achieve TSSA certification.

**Lesson Planning**:

- Develop clear lesson plans and course materials specifically for the Gas Technician G3 training program.

**Teaching (Post-Accreditation)**:

- Conduct engaging classroom lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions for the G3 program once TSSA accreditation is achieved.

**Guidance**:

- Provide support and supervision to students during G3 lab exercises.

**Assessment**:

- Evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and practical tasks related to the G3 curriculum.

**Feedback**:

- Offer constructive feedback to aid in student improvement and career growth in the G3 program.

**Stay Updated**:

- Keep abreast of changes in gas technology and industry standards relevant to the G3 certification.

**Teamwork**:

- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the quality of the G3 program.

**Meetings and Development**:

- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and reviews for ongoing improvement of the G3 program.

**Requirements**:

- **License**: Possess a Gas Technician 1 or Gas Technician 2 license.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching.
- **Skills**: Demonstrate proficiency in explaining concepts and creating effective lesson plans.
- **Knowledge**: Understand safety regulations and gas system protocols, especially those pertinent to the G3 certification.
- **Communication**: Communicate effectively with students in a friendly and helpful manner.
- **Problem-Solving**: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills.
- **Passion**: Display genuine enthusiasm for assisting students in their career advancement.
- **Flexibility**: Adapt to diverse learning styles and individual needs.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- **Skills**: Familiarity with natural gas and propane installation code.
- **Tech-Savvy**: Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms.

**Compensation**:

- Competitive compensation will be offered for assisting in obtaining TSSA accreditation and setting up the G3 program.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 36 months

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Gas Technician: 5 years (preferred)
- teaching: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- G2 or G1 Gas Technician license? (required)
