**About The Role**
The role of the General Sales Manager is to effectively manage the sales team and have an in-depth understanding of all sales department's financial data as well as strong customer relations skills.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Develop short and long-term goals for sales department team leaders and provide regular follow-up meetings
- Review departmental forecasts and ensure consistency with annual projections
- Pay close attention to daily operations, recommending and creating improved courses of action where necessary
- Create the annual dealership sales forecasts by estimating total vehicle sales, gross and operating profits as well as expenses for the new-and-used sales departments
- Meet with sales managers to plan and implement objectives for achieving sales and gross profits
- Oversee standards for displaying and merchandising both new and used vehicles as well as reviewing and initialing all promotions before they are finalized
- Coordinate the appropriate supply of new and used vehicles and ordering/acquiring vehicle inventory accordingly
- Work directly with the General Manager on making recommendations on both short and long-range advertising plans, sales promotions, staffing needs, lease promotions and compensation plans
- Assist with rectifying any customer complaints and escalations that department team leaders are unable to resolve
- Assist with the recruitment of Sales employees when necessary
- Remain up-to-date with current industry trends
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a Sales Manager role for an OEM Auto Dealership
- Strong leadership characteristics, with a strong emphasis on the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
- Valid VSA License
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
