**About this Opportunity**
The Project Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Construction. The PM will work closely with the Head of Health and Safety, the GM of Aggregates, the Estimator and the Site Supervisors. The PM will be responsible for overseeing the planning, directing, and the coordination of all aspects of a construction project, from initiation to completion. The PM will be managing project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and quality to ensure successful delivery. The PM will coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure that all project objectives are met while maintaining safety, compliance, and quality standards. The PM will adhere to, support and reflect the organization’s health and safety practices at all times as well as promote and live up to the company core values, code of ethics and employee code of conduct.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining project timelines, resources, and milestones.
- Establish and define the project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the design team and contractors to ensure clear project objectives and technical requirements.
- Monitor sites and contacts for future bid opportunities.
- Assist with bid packages, project estimates and submissions.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimations, procurement strategies, and financial tracking.
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to stay within budget.
- Allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project needs.
- Manage the procurement process including subcontractor/trade/supplier negotiations and awards.
- Process subcontractor progress claims and invoices.
- Prepare progress claim packages for submission.
- Lead and motivate project teams, including subcontractors, laborers, and other professionals.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to review project progress and resolve issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Identify potential risks or challenges to the project’s success and develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and local construction laws and regulations.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the finished product meets industry standards and client expectations.
- Track project progress, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to project delays, unexpected costs, or quality concerns.
- Ensure successful project completion, including final inspections and handover documentation.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to assess project outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
**Qualifications/Experience**
- Post SecondaryEducation in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience (3 years) as a Project Manager in construction or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (excel, word, Microsoft Project).
- Ability to read and analyze construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, budgets, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Good judgment, sound decision making, motivated and self-directed.
- Professional work ethic, reliable, positive attitude
- Strong leadership and relationship building skills, driven by success and company betterment
- Valid G driver’s license
