GIP has an opportunity available for a **Quality Control Technician**, located in Hamiliton.

**What’s involved?**
- Call the plant operator of our Asphalt Plant to go over the production requirements for the day.
- Head to a project site for paving and communicate with our paving crews and owners/consultants onsite.
- Take a material sample of what we are paving and bring it back to one of our laboratories.
- Run a check on the material by testing for different properties, to ensure the product is meting specifications.
- Document progress onsite and report to local management.
- Review progress with management, receive feedback and offer solutions for further improvements.

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary education preferably in Construction related fields is a benefit
- Valid G class license with good driving record
- Ability to travel across the province for several days up to more than a week at times
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint an asset.
- Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Able to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Technical Knowledge of asphalt paving or construction an asset.
