Be a catalyst for NAIT’s future. Lead transformation that empowers people, drives innovation, and shapes the next chapter of polytechnic education in Alberta and beyond.
NAIT is seeking a visionary, dynamic, and people-centered leader to serve as Director, Transformation Office. This pivotal role will play a key role at the heart of NAIT’s RISE transformation program (Resilience, Innovation, Sustainability, Engagement) guiding our institution through a bold 3-year transformation that blends cultural renewal with financial sustainability.
As Director, you will lead and scale a permanent transformation office, integrating project management with business analysis and data driven insights. You will drive a $50M+ annual portfolio of change, acting as both catalyst and compass, ensuring NAIT remains resilient, innovative, and empowered to deliver on its promise to learners, staff, industry, and the broader community.
You will champion a cultural shift where transformation is about people, processes and finances. You’ll lead a cross-functional team, manage the transformation delivery office, and foster transparent, data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement across the institution.
This position reports to the interim AVP Transformation and oversees two managers and eight indirect reports.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Strategic Leadership & Governance**
Lead with purpose and direction on NAIT’s transformation journey. Guide the institution through complex change, ensuring every initiative aligns with NAIT’s mission, values, and the NAIT Effect.
- **Project Delivery Oversight**
Oversee the execution of strategic projects, ensuring measurable outcomes and continuous improvement. Champion evidence-based decision-making and rigorous project evaluation.
- **Business Analysis & Insights**
Integrate data-driven insights into strategy and operations. Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation that advance NAIT’s polytechnic mission.
- **Team Leadership & Coaching**
Inspire, develop, and empower a high-performing transformation team. Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability where every voice matters.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**
Build strong relationships with staff and leadership. Facilitate strategic discussions, navigate complex dynamics, and foster alignment and commitment to transformation goals.
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to see the big picture and connect daily actions to NAIT’s long-term vision.
- Outstanding communication and storytelling skills—able to translate complex ideas into clear, inspiring messages for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, navigate organizational complexity, and drive consensus in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with a knack for leveraging data to inform decisions and measure impact.
- Deep commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and continuous learning—the hallmarks of the NAIT Effect.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a passion for empowering others to rise to new challenges.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, organizational development, or a related field (required). Advanced degree (MBA, master’s in leadership, or related graduate credential) strongly preferred.
- Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP), change management (e.g., Prosci), or business analysis are desirable.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex transformation initiatives in a post-secondary or similarly complex environment (required).
- Consulting experience is considered an asset, especially for those ready to trade frequent travel and project cycles for a purpose-driven role where your expertise can create lasting impact for students, industry partners, and staff.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
**Remuneration**: $134,240.60 - $177,849.10 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
**Please submit a resume and cover letter to be considered for this opportunity.**
