**Job Summary**:
As a _**Quality Assurance Technician,**_ you will be responsible for the direct examination of products to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's quality assurance policies, and identifying defects and or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- **Job Duties**_
- Inspect production material as assigned for defects as trained.
- Remove defective items from production, designating reason for removal.
- Report defects to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain QA control documentation.
- Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
- Assist with the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
- Support new product development and continuous improvement and by integrating quality control tools into processes.
- Comply with Company QA programs for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.

- Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
- Adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work.
- Create and maintain QA control documentation
- Identify and report any hazard(s) in their workplace.
- Report any accidents, injuries requiring first aid, health care, lost time injuries, occupational diseases or incidents.
- Use equipment, materials, and machinery only as authorized.
- Follow procedures and wear personal protective equipment as outlined in the health and safety manual.
- Assist in the QA document related activities and preparation of audit requirements.

- **Requirements**_
- Post Secondary Education in an appropriate field.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct work experience within the food industry, QA systems, CFIA regulations, guidelines, and associated standards will be considered an asset.
- Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, control plans and documentation will be an asset.
- Highly organized, motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker.
- Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents.
- Able to develop, review, and maintain metrics and quality audits.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- **Working Conditions**_
- Rotating Shifts to cover team members on vacation and pre-operational start-up.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
- Exposure to cold environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
