Food Bank Assistant Manager

**Summary of Duties**:
- Rotate stock from outside storage, check dates and ensure that the product is not dated.
- Maintain the stock levels on shelves, ensuring all items are properly bagged and all food bank donations are put away. Ensure that aisles are kept clear so that volunteers, recipients, etc., can move about the space safely.
- Answer inquiries regarding emergency hampers and food donations to the Food Bank. Document distribution of food.
- Make up weekly food hamper lists.
- Provide training, direction and supervision to the volunteers in order that they carry out their duties in a competent manner. Assist and support volunteers with all tasks related to the Food Bank.
- Ensure that food is sorted and distributed according to program policies and practices.
- Assist with Food Drives and Christmas Hamper Program by ensuring that all donations of food items are recorded and inventoried.
- Document and respond to complaints/concerns raised by volunteers/persons served.
- Participate in regular Quality Assurance Reviews and team meetings as required.
- Liaise with community agencies as directed.
- Participate in and support agency activities, vision, mission and values.
**Qualifications Required**:
- Completion of Grade 12; Food Safe Training.
- 2 years working closely with volunteers in a service delivery situation
- Strong organizational and oral communication skills.
- Spanish / Farsi languages are an asset.
