Production Test Technician

ComNav, a privately held marine autopilot and precision products manufacturer has a Production test technician opportunity for the right individual. This permanent fulltime position is responsible for testing our precision marine electronics products to meet the required specifications and a gatekeeper for the quality assurance of products. This position can also lead to other technical positions and/or promotion in the company. Strong electronic technical abilities & knowledges are critical to succeed in this position.
The Production Test Technician will be accountable for:
- Perform pretest and final electrical/functional testing on company products in accordance with test procedures & Quality Assurance procedures
- Perform incoming inspection of PCB assemblies, parts, and OEM products
- **Perform troubleshoot and repair rejects at circuit board & component levels (T.H. & SMT)**
- Record results, tabulate trend, provide report for analysis
- Prepare test procedure and test sheet based on test specifications from engineering
- Perform test equipment calibration accordance with calibration procedures and instructions
- Conduct product test validations and verifications with instructions from engineering
- Assist production on product assemblies when required
Competencies:
- Read, comprehend, & interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Soldering skills to meet IPC-A-610 standards for Surface-mount and Though-hole components
- Exceptional communicator both verbal and written
- technical writing skills
- Strong analytical, organizational skills coupled with high attention to detail
- Solid team player & proven ability to meet production deadline
- Adaptive, self-driven, and have desire to learn new technologies, protocols to remain current with industry standards
**Requirements**:
- 3+ years of relevant experience as an electronic technician
- Diploma in electronics technologist or equivalent
- Proficiency in analog & digital circuitry, SMT technologies
- Proficiency in the use of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscope, & digital multimeter.
- Experience in testing and repairing precision marine electronics products and related specifications is a plus
- Familiar with plug-and-play communications standard between marine electronics such as NMEA 2000 & NMEA 0183 is a plus
