On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a French Editor for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
**French Editor - Job Description**:
As a French Editor, you will be responsible for coordinating translations from external agencies and reviewing, editing, and proofreading marketing content across various digital platforms. You will ensure the accuracy and consistency of English-to-French translations while contributing to the development and maintenance of French editorial standards.
**French Editor - Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate translations from external agencies
- Review and edit English-to-French translations for accuracy, consistency, tone, typography, and grammar
- Occasionally translate copy directly
- Work within an Agile marketing framework to deliver French content
- Contribute to creating and maintaining French editorial standards
- Utilize SEO tactics and accessibility best practices
**French Editor - Mandatory Skills**:
- Proficient in native French with a degree in translation or equivalent work experience
- Strong terminology research skills
- Awareness of French-Canadian nuances
- Good working knowledge of translation software such as Trados, MemoQ, and Antidote
- Familiarity with terminology databases like Termium
- Understanding of Office Québécois de la langue Française (OQLF) standards
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
**French Editor - Nice-to-Have Skills**:
- Experience in content management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines
- Experience with Agile marketing frameworks
