Optical Sales

Boardwalk Optical Boutique opened in 1979 to fill a need for quality eyeglasses in the Cambridge area, and we now serve the wider Tri-City area, from Cambridge to Waterloo. Our boutique has an extensive collection of designer eyeglasses, prescription lenses, sunglasses, contact lenses, and many other products to serve the vision needs of people of all ages.

We are seeking an Optical Sales & Administrative Assistant to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis.

You should be capable and confident in your sales, administration, and customer service abilities. You enjoy working in a team-oriented environment and eager to learn more. We're looking for individuals who are passionate about eye care in Ontario.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Lead the overall sales process and customer experience for the optical business and assist in the development of new processes/services to maintain high level of customer service. Actively work towards meeting sales objectives and goals.
- Advise patients with frame, lens & sunglass selection, and offer the best advice based on customer requests and lifestyle. Perform measurements and adjustments as needed.
- Perform pre-testing for Optometrist appointments.
- Continuously remain up-to-date on new products and trends in the optical sector by participating in online and in person training sessions as needed.
- General administrative duties as required, such as scheduling, billing, patient recalls, patient processing, referrals, frame and lens ordering
- Support duties related to maintaining accurate inventory, including entering new stock, packaging lab shipments, and book-keeping
- Maintain information related to customer/client/patient records, eye prescriptions, eyeglass orders, invoices, returns, payments.
- Take payments from customers and complete sales sheets as required. Direct bill through various insurance platforms.
- Manages and respond to customer complaints and warranty requests

**Qualifications**
- 2+ years of experience in an optical or medical environment is highly preferred. CCOA certification is an asset.
- 2+ years of experience in a retail/sales environment providing exceptional customer service
- A professional, honest, and fun-loving attitude with a strong passion for delivering high quality service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must; Must be fluent in English
- Strong multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills
- Experience scheduling, reporting, ordering, inventory management, and other administrative duties
- Ability to stay calm when presented with challenging customers
- Highly detail-oriented and able to learn and use new technologies
- Interest in eyewear trends and a good eye for fashion
- Experience in insurance billing is considered an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $18.50-$19.50 per hour
