Job Title: Learning and Development Advisor Employee Group: Administrator Employee Type: Permanent Start Date: Monday, February 17 2025 End Date (if applicable): **Job Description**: The Learning & Development Advisor is an exciting role with Langara's Employee Learning & Development Hub. The Hub is an initiative advancing Langara's strategic priority to "provide learning and professional development opportunities for employees." Reporting to the Manager of the Employee Learning and Development Hub, this role joins the Hub in building, promoting, and maintaining learning and development opportunities delivered and supported through a Learning Management System for employees. You'll collaborate with partners across the College to provide strategic support and consultation on learning and development opportunities for employees. You'll lead the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs delivered through online, face-to-face, and hybrid methods. Qualifications Required: Education & Experience - Undergraduate degree in related field including organizational behaviour/development, adult education, psychology, curriculum development, educational technologies, e-learning design, instructional design, etc. - Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in learning and development, organizational design, and employee development. - Preference for experience in public sector or large, complex multi-union environments. - Demonstrated expertise in the design and delivery of a variety of learning and development programs, processes, resources, and tools in varied formats including f2f, online, and hybrid. - Practical experience utilizing project management principles, practices, and methodologies. - Demonstrated proficiency with varied e-learning tools to facilitate access, engagement, and learning - including learning management systems, content authoring tools, video conferencing platforms, collaboration tools, interactive learning tools, and assessment and evaluation tools. - Demonstrated practical experience with decolonization, equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives. - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Skills and Abilities - Demonstrated ability to astutely assess learning needs and organizational constraints and requirements to determine, design, develop, and deploy effective learning solutions. - Demonstrated ability to cope with multiple and changing priorities and aggressive timelines. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a dynamic diverse cross functional hybrid work team. - Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and adept at using multiple channels of communication to inform, educate and influence varied and diverse stakeholders. - Superior strategic-thinking, organizational, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills. - Creative, innovative and resourceful with demonstrated success in identifying opportunities for innovation and enhancements, planning, effecting and evaluating changes to existing activities and identified opportunities - Ability to analyze complex and sensitive situations, perform research, analyze, interpret, and organize information accurately to inform decision-making and innovation.
