Water & Sewer Dozer Operator

Thompson Construction Group has openings in the upcoming season for Dozer Operators located in Edmonton and surrounding areas.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate Dozer as it applies to ditching, sloping, support clean-up in excavations and embankments, ripping, etc. along with the ability to read grade stakes
- Conduct a pre-operational equipment inspection checklist before operating
- Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Thompson Construction Group’s safe work practices, policies and procedures
- Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance
- Report all incidents, near-misses, and damage of the equipment to site supervision
- Ability to identify hazards
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years of dozer experience with experience in water/sewer installations, subdivision servicing, road construction and urban renewal projects
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must have proven ability to work in tight spots
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- CSTS/OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification, Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive, First Aid and Safe Trenching is considered an asset
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
