**Job Description**:
As an Associate Merchant, you will support the creation and implementation of your respective assortment while ensuring that all financial and corporate objectives are met. You will manage the daily execution with your cross-functional partners to drive the overall product strategy - in support of the Collection.
**What You'll Do**:
- Create the assortment strategy based on the analysis of our own internal metrics as well as the competitor marketplace; support the build of assortments that are Brand first in look and feel to achieve financial targets
- Support the long-term growth strategies for their own category that support the overall Product Team goal, and meet the organization’s financial targets
- Partner closely with the Planning department and regional teams to ensure optimal product mix
- Identifies opportunities in their assortment and creates the Product Briefs that communicate to the Design Team what the need is and why with clear direction
- Utilize advanced in-depth knowledge of the Canada Goose consumer, the competition, market trends, retail and Omni channel reality, general business, and available analytics to provide long-term vision and an overall framework for line plans
- Support Categories Strategies by providing data analysis, summaries, and financial models when required with a close eye on trends, the market, influencers, and culture
- Collect sales hindsight regularly; analyze data to identify regional and channel-specific needs and opportunities; present these insights to the rest of the Product Team
- Support the delegated projects through the organization, working collaboratively with all cross functional partners
- Keep all assortment planning files and tools accurate and up to date
**Let's Talk About You**:
- University degree
- 3+ years in positions offering relevant merchandising experience for a similar category
- Must be able to utilize and master internal software systems - PLM
- Strategic planning and competitive analysis abilities
- Retail math training
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphases on PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Handles business independently, searches for information and drives solutions
- Knows how to read and interpret sales performance
- A natural leader who can drive different projects successfully
- An influential team member who drives ideas around product creation
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation) and ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
- Thinks outside of the box and constantly strives to improve current way of working
- Interest in the overall business and merchandising
- Strong sense of style with a deep understanding of trends, influencers, and culture
