Reporting to the owner/President, you will provide hands on leadership and guidance pertaining to all financial operations and activities for a diverse group of companies in both Canada and the U.S. You will manage operational financial reporting, financial budgeting and planning processes in all key business functions and play a leading role in ensuring the company meets its short and long-term targets. The CFO will work closely with the owner/President to ensure the financial stability and growth of both the company and the personal wealth of the owner to ensure it is maintained for the next generation.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide overall leadership to the reporting, financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
- Manage and comply with local, provincial/state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings (Canada and the U.S.).
- Responsible for financial management of both Canadian and U.S. entities.
- Serve as a business partner and strategic adviser to the President.
- Translate financial reports/results into actionable items.
- Provide data-driven insight to critical business matters to drive profitable growth, leading long term planning processes.
- Contribute actively to the evolution and execution of strategic business plans, including M&A, growth, and business development strategies.
- Ensure strong and effective relationships with all external partners.
- Oversee, lead and manage the finance, control and accounting functions with strict eye for cash flow inputs/outputs.
- Ensure the fiscal integrity of the business through enhancement and management of accounting systems and controls.
- Play a leading role in negotiating with banks and lenders during fundraising stages and manage lender relationships.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) most important to the success of this company.
- Responsible for contract management, review and execution.
- Identify and manage risk helping to ensure the company's financial wellbeing.
- Additional duties as required.

**Skills and Experience**
- Undergraduate degree in finance and/or accounting with a graduate degree (MBA) preferred.
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role (strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate development).
- Experience raising capital and with M&A an asset.
- Experience with both U.S. and Canadian accounting principles and taxation is an asset.
- Experience building financial infrastructure in support of company operations including policies/procedures, KPI’s and data management.
- Proven strategic thinker.
- Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and drive projects to completion.
- Self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to solve problems using a creative approach.
- Outstanding oral and written communication.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
