Since 1963, the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) has been meeting the needs of Aboriginal people making a transition to the urban Vancouver community. The Friendship Centre, a charitable organization provides programs in health, welfare, social services, human rights, culture, education, recreation and equality for all genders of aboriginal people of all age groups. One of our programs is Skeena Transition House, a housing centre that offers services to 54 tenants in a unique partnership with the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) and the 201 Central Shelter. We are currently seeking a Building Manager to be responsible for Skeena House’s daily operations. Some of the major responsibilities include:

- leading all Skeena employees
- providing advice, guidance and consultation to employees regarding program services
- maintaining 24/7 employee schedules that meet the needs of Skeena House
- managing rent collection & in-take of clients
- ensuring timely collection of rent and effective management of arrears collection
- responding to inquiries and requests by Clients and resolves any problems or issues
- engaging with community stakeholders to ensure appropriate delivery of services in accordance with the contract
- responding to resident enquiries, complaints, and emergencies
- managing petty cash, and organization credit cards as needed
- maintaining monthly reports for Executive Director and Board of Directors
- arranging for Contractors to view site, entering units when necessary, and ensuring that maintenance projects are coordinated with site operations
- performing unit inspections and assisting with annual inspections, responding to / processing enquiries and complaints; and taking appropriate action
- overseeing preventative maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements
- performing other related duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Salary**: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
