Raise Workforce has partnered with a facilities management company in Fort Saint John, BC that is seeking an **HSEQ Advisor** with a background in Training and Development to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for all areas regarding site HSEQ programs, administering and continually improving the quality of service or product to ensure high client satisfaction.
**What you will be doing....**
- Provide oversight and direction to support operations HSEQ needs of management, staff, and customers of the Facility and Lodge
- Mentor managers and leads on how to facilitate effective toolbox, and HSEQ program initiatives
- Lead and arrange regular management reviews of the lodge performance as it adheres to key performance indicators
- Conduct mentoring, and training and provide presentations to work crews and management on safe work practices
- Review Training Plan, Curriculum, and administrative processes completed
- Good knowledge of environmental impact assessment, inspections and monitoring as well as regional Recycling Program
- Identify, assess, control, manage and communicate all ATRL facility or work-related hazards and appropriate mitigations
- Help lead team and trend all aspects of the corporate and lodge HSEQ programs including Safe & Sound initiatives, BBS and Near Miss Observation behaviors, orientation, coordinating training, WorkSafeBC case management, inspections, incident investigation and reporting
- Anticipate HSEQ issues and take corrective actions to resolve
- Recognize safe behaviors that contribute to a total safety culture
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of various reports and returns in accordance with HSEQ or as outlined in specific KPIs and ATCO corporate standards
- Use of HSEQ data reporting system to track all HSEQ observations, incidents, investigations and reporting
- Assist in the evaluation and development of all policies, procedures, and processes to enhance the delivery of HSEQ initiatives at the lodge
- Demonstrate a visible and professional leadership role model and attitude
- Responsible for compiling and preparing reports of performance data, HSE system requirements, and other requested reports from Head Office
- Travel may be required to ensure all HSEQ obligations for this position are met
- Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health policies, programs, and procedures
- Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety requirements by all site personnel
- Ensure that investigations into injuries, accidents and unsafe acts and conditions are properly conducted, causal factors identified and appropriate corrective actions identified
- Conduct health, safety, environmental and quality audits
- Manage operational risks through qualitative risk assessments tools such as Fault Tree Analysis
- Assist in the development, analysis and testing of the facility Emergency Response Plan
- Mentor site personnel by providing instruction and direction to ensure a positive quantitative and qualitative performance is achieved
- Other duties as assigned
**Why this is the right job for you **
- Have a University degree or College diploma/ certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and/or HSE certifications
- Construction and/or Heavy Industrial experience required
- Post-secondary certification or advanced technical training in a related field, or equivalent education and experience in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment
- QA/QC certifications or experience is an asset
- Background in Learning, Development, and Training is strongly preferred
- ISO 9001:2015 or experience building quality management systems
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience in construction site or facilities management business is preferred
- Able to pass a pre-employment 10-panel Drug & Alcohol test including THC
- Valid Driver's License and a 3-year Clear Driver's Abstract
