**Job Summary**
The purpose of a Host/Front Desk is to welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival, answer telephone, take reservations and manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes. This position is to perform the above duties in a friendly & courteous manner while maintaining a smooth flow throughout the restaurant. The host are also responsible for the grooming of the entire restaurant and its perimeters, as well as supporting servers and service staff with clearing and resetting tables.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**
- Greet all guests promptly and graciously upon arrival
- Answer telephone and respond to guests’ inquiries in a professional manner
- Assist servers or bartenders as necessary
- Communicate special requests and needs of guests with staff and managers
- Complete additional tasks at the request of a manager along with End of Shift Responsibilities
- Help clear tables after guests leave in a prompt manner
- Place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for cleaning
- Help clean table tops, chairs and booths and check floor and clean as needed
- Reset and arrange tabletop for next customers
- Record guest name and number of people in party when immediate seating is limited with OpenTable software
- Attend to guest and party when tables become available
- Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
- Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
- Offer guests a menu and inspect table for proper presentation and completeness
- Relay messages to servers as needed
- Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods
- Maintain necessary supplies at the host stand (menus, notepads, pens, etc.)
- Relay guest comments to and perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Excellent verbal & telephone skills to be able to communicate clearly & effectively with guests
- Excellent oral communication & interpersonal skills required
- Must be a team player & demonstrate organizational skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Knowledge of OpenTable & Micros preferred
- Must have Open Availability (PM) & be able to work Tuesday-Saturday
- Serve it Right Saskatchewan Certification (SIRS)
