**Job description**

**Scotty Manufacturing** is seeking a reliable hands-on Assembler for a full-time, Monday to Friday day shift position in our Firefighting Division.

The prospect for this position will work primarily with product assembly but may cross train in other duties such as shipping, packaging, forklift and warehousing.

**Responsibilities**:

- Firefighting product assembly
- Ensure that all Bills-of-Lading, harmonization code paperwork and manifests are properly completed.
- Follow all operating processes and use all relevant WorksafeBC safety practices.
- Act as an active back up to other division personnel
- Perform quality control and accurate counts and products in shipping packages
- Perform shipping functions in the computer system, and accurately track shipments.
- Packaging items, printing labels, weighing packages, and organizing shipments for the division.
- Ensure stock in warehouse is stored correctly, properly allocating and picking stock for shipment, labeled inventory and placing the stock in the correct location.
- Ensure products are properly labeled when boxes are opened, and that product is protected adequately while in storage.
- Follow up to ensure associated work order logs are complete and accurate
- Maintain a clean & efficient work area at all times.
- Other duties as assigned

- Attention to detail and an interest in learning is important to succeed
- Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, lathes, drill press is an asset
- Handling both raw materials and finished goods
- A flexible and strong team player that can work in a varied environment
- Essential physical requirements
- sitting, standing, and bending as needed
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs safely
- Previous shipping and packaging experience of 2 + years is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
